Dalmatia and Italy in Zagreb. Dalmatia and Italy: 18th- and 19th-century drawings, prints and paintings of monuments and landscapes in the collections of Zagreb galleries and museums
Notation of a space in the medium of the drawing is a record of the first and immediate artistic perception, one that can be used for a later elaboration of a print or an oil painting. Works of European artists with motifs of Dalmatia and Italy of the 18th and 19th centuries created during their tours of these countries will be culled from the collections of drawings, prints and paintings of Zagreb museums and galleries.
Workshop participants were be able to examine the original drawings, prints and paintings of the period that are kept in these museums and galleries.
This material, assembled and studied, will serve as supplementation to the database that is being formed during the project, that is, as visual material for the research project ‘Dalmatia as destination of the European Grand Tour in the 18th and 19th centuries’.
A project presentation will be held in the premises of the Croatian Society of Art Historians.
